St Patricks Home in Bronx, NY Pricing, Reviews & Medicaid

All are encouraged to participate but not forced to so. Residents with aggressive or behavioral issues are not accepted. Claire Henry, the director, is lovely and accessible. She and the staff helped ease the transition for my mom/family and is responsive to any concerns. My mom has settled in well, and she’s well looked after by a great staff.

Organizing ativities to have some fun at that house, some religious activities, such as the visiting of Our Lady of Fatima last month. It''s so thoughtful and meaningful for the members in that nursinghome. Thanks for all staff there, keep running the nursinghome and you are in my prayer. Nursing Homes can be an expensive senior care option, so cost is typically going to be a consideration when looking at alternatives. The average starting cost of this facility is the slightly higher than the average cost in this area.

To learn more about St. Patrick's Home

It felt very much like a prison than a warm environment. Ask a lot of questions and make sure you know what you are signing up for for your relative or loved one. This community offers numerous amenities and services for their residents.

A nursing home is a residential facility for long-term clinical care of seniors and disabled patients. Nursing homes are staffed by skilled nurses 24 hours a day, who provide care to those who are sick with chronic illness or recovering from injuries. The skilled nurses make sure that residents receive the necessary medication and other essential medical care for their conditions. The environment of a nursing home is often somewhat clinical in comparison with an assisted living community, on account of the greater emphasis on medical care. St. Patrick's Home can provide many senior housing options, including Alzheimer's care, assisted living, and nursing home care. The facility is a good option for those at any stage of dementia or memory loss who need assistance with common activities and monitoring to prevent wandering.

There are a lot of things that we like about it. It's clean and nice, and the people are nice and very accommodating. They help the patients, and they have a lot of therapy for them. It's laid out nicely, and they have all kinds of amenities for the residents.

Family members go hours without being changed or cleaned, if they cannot do it themselves. If your family member is non-verbal, DO NOT send them here, they will be ignored. Also, if you want to get in touch with your family member''s in house doctor, I wish you good luck. It took me almost 3 weeks of bothering the nursing staff to get a 5 minute phone call from the doctor.... I learned soon after that the doctor didn''t even do what was asked of him and then I was never able to get in contact with him again. Also, if your family member gets injured in anyway, such as unknown bruises or even a broken left arm, document everything and ask 100 questions.

Ratings and Reviews from Around the Web

The staff was extremely caring and the facility was well maintained. The PT and OT services were very good and they were able to get mom to return home fairly quickly. We would not request this facility repeatedly if the care was any less. Access to health care is an important consideration when selecting a nursing homes community. There are 82 hospitals close to St Patricks Home.

I don’t know what’s going on with St. Patricks but is not what it used to be. As a Catholic I am ashamed to say what I am about to say. My dad was a temporary patient approximately three years ago.

THE CARMELITE SISTERS

The nuns who run this facility hired the kindest nursing staff possible. In addition to the great care the patients receive, there are a plethora of activities that are offered. Now one must think there is something negative about this nursing home, but I have not seen one thing I did not like that the nursing home did. They truly try to make the best out of a bad situation. St. Patrick's also has an assisted living community as well, but my great grandmother never lived there, so I cannot give any comments on it.

However, I've been there a lot, I go there whenever I want, and they accommodate me. Even though when I'm visiting my father, I can really see how they interact with other patients, and I find them really good. They do offer a lot of activities, but my father doesn't want to do any of them.

Review.Care

The only thing that they don't have there, which would be nice if they did, was an actual dialysis service at the facility itself. Their rooms were all right but they only have shared room accommodations, which I don't like. I don't think people should really be sharing room with other people. However, the staff was professional and pleasant when I visited. The Lourdes Center for Memory Care is a beautiful, state of the art setting, utilizing individual and group therapeutic programs. Our guiding principle of "person centered" care is fostered in a home like environment, and brings joy and purpose to each day.

For some reason there may be no treatment plan- although I was in a rehab section. The administration does not communicate clearly with the client. In fact, they may be deceitful or perhaps lazy at times? Perhaps they have never experienced being immobilized and having serious pain. Very important for the patient or loved one to track the progress of the client. I was there at least a few weeks w no treatment plan - until the 2 weeks before my exit.
